Since we are located in Cajun Country, we hope you will take some time to explore our area and all it has to offer. This area is touted as being “The Most Cajun Place on Earth”! Don’t miss it!

PLACES TO VISIT
212 Main Street,Gueydan, Louisiana
The museum building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the focal point of Main Street in Gueydan. It houses rare photographs and cultural artifacts from the Gueydan area.

Acadian Village is a perfect place to be introduced to the early Acadian heritage. It is a recreation of a typical 1800s Cajun village with original homes containing artifacts from that era. Take a leisurely walk down trails
that lead to various homes, a church, a blacksmith shop, and more.
300 Fisher Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508
This attraction is one of the world’s largest physical representations of an early Acadian settlement. Situated on a 23-acre site, the seven restored original homes and structures date from 1765 to 1890. Local artisans demonstrate a variety of essential crafts performed by the early settlers. Once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, enjoy live Cajun music, dancing and jams.

The museum provides a range of hands-on, interactive exhibits which are designed to teach children about crafts & give them practical knowledge.

Explore interactive exhibits featuring paleontology, marine biology and geology, this museum is a playful portal into a vast universe of discovery. It offers a great hands-on experience for all ages, with exhibits designed to enlighten and educate. It also offers a planetarium.
The zoo was established in 1992 to provide children and families in and around the Acadiana area with an enjoyable experience. Its purpose is to educate about our planet’s wildlife, as well as provide for the animals which call Zoosiana home.
Breaux Bridge, Louisiana
McGee’s Swamp Tours immerses guests into Louisiana’s beautiful, vast, and mysterious Atchafalaya Swamp. Alligators, birds of many varieties and other species abound! This company offers swamp tours and airboat rides that are entertaining, eco-sensitive and educational to people from around the world.
THINGS TO DO
This festival, which began in 1977, highlights the hunting heritage of the Acadiana region. There are many activities held during the festival, including a parade, pageant, cooking contest, duck-calling contest and more.
This parade is held on Mardi Gras day and is known for being n old-fashioned, family-friendly event. It rolls through the streets of Kaplan. The krewe was started by a group of women who wanted to preserve the traditions of Acadian Mardi Gras celebrations.
Held on the first full weekend in November of each year. On the Sunday of this festival, a 5,000 egg omelette is prepared in a 12’ skillet and is passed out free to the hungry audience, along with a slice of French bread. It is a symbol of a world-wide fraternity known as the Confrerie. Abbeville is the only place where this festival takes place in the United States. South Louisiana music, a juried art show and more.
Festivals Acadiens et Créoles is a three-day festival celebrating the music, workshops, art & crafts, and food of South Louisiana. It is held annually in in October in Lafayette, Louisiana.

The Courir de Mardi Gras is a Cajun Mardi Gras event held in many Cajun and Creole communities of French Louisiana surrounding our Bed and Breakfast on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. It includes parades, music, dancing, a chicken run and more. Courir de Mardi Gras is Louisiana French for “Fat Tuesday Run”.
You won’t find a more unique Cajun cafe/country store anywhere else in Acadiana. Features seafood, sweets, and so much more. Large portions. Don’t miss eating here – it will be one of the most memorable events of your trip. This restaurant has a 5-star rating on TripAdvisor!
Dupuy’s is a favorite dining spot in Abbeville. It offers over 60 menu options to choose from in a casual family dining atmosphere. Its elegant desserts are baked in-house. Dupuy’s says that its “recipes are tried and true and have been known to bring out the Cajun in anyone”.
SHUCKS! THE Louisiana Seafood House is one of the Abbeville restaurants that our guests love. Choose from dishes featuring shrimp, crab and oysters. Enjoy our steaks and wild game such as duck, crawfish and alligator. This restaurant features many unique dishes.
Louisiana-style seafood, steaks and cocktails in a waterfront locale with indoor/outdoor dining. They are known for their perfectly grilled steaks and locally sourced seafood.
