This cookbook contains recipes from Barry Toups, proprietor, and his family.
The recipes found in this cookbook are used at Crawfish Haven/Mrs. Rose’s Bed and Breakfast and were prepared by his family for generations. Barry says, “Most of my cooking skills came from the hunting camp. As a child, I watched the older men cook. My mom, Ena, was a good cook, too, as was her sister and many other family members.“
All of the recipes found in the Main Dish section of the cookbook are dishes that Barry cooks on a regular basis, along with many of the appetizers which he prepares for his guests. If you take the time to prepare them, they will be worth every minute. You will not be disappointed!
Many of the desserts featured were prepared in the Cajun kitchens of Barry’s mom, Ena, and her sister, Taunt Hazel, and other family members when Barry was growing up in the small community of Henry, Louisiana.
